Dear Valued Customer,
RE: General Rates Increase
We would like to thank you for your continued support, particularly during an extended period of uncertainty and significant external impacts on New Zealand businesses. This includes significant supply chain service disruptions, the highest inflationary environment New Zealand has had for 30 years, and what has now become critical labour shortages.
At PBT we continue to do everything possible to mitigate these disruptions and cost pressures. However, we unfortunately now find it necessary to apply the following changes as a result of a range of significant cost increases we have had to absorb since PBT’s last General Rate Increase in 2020. We have worked hard to apply these changes in a targeted manner to ensure cost increases are only passed on where they need to be.
From 4 April 2022, a General Rate Increase of 7.2% will apply across all PBT rates and services, although:
- an additional 1.0% applies to Inter-Island Transport & Courier services.
- a flat rate increase of $1.20 applies to Local & Outer Area Courier services.
- Surcharges change as per this Surcharge schedule.
We realise these price increases come at a challenging time and therefore we have worked hard to mitigate cost increases wherever possible. However, these increases are now necessary to allow PBT to continue providing you with the best possible service levels.
Please refer to the Q&A Sheet for further information, or contact your PBT Account Manager, if you have any questions. Again, we thank you for your continued support during this challenging period.
